What is stair lighting?

Stair lighting is subtle LED lighting under the treads or along the stringers. The light falls on the tread below, so every step is clearly visible and the staircase gains an inviting atmosphere.

The lighting is fitted straight away during the stair renovation and is one of our most popular options.

The LEDs are dimmable and adjustable to several shades of white, so the light suits the atmosphere in your home.

You can switch the lighting on and off with a wireless wall switch, a remote control or a motion sensor that turns the light on automatically.

The lighting is fitted under the treads or along the stringers of your staircase. Our adviser will show you what gives the most beautiful effect on your staircase.

Lighting as part of your stair renovation

Stair lighting can be fitted to all closed staircases. With an open staircase, we cannot hide the wiring out of sight. The lighting is fitted while the overlay treads and risers are being installed.

Maintenance and service

LED lighting needs hardly any maintenance. Separate parts such as the remote control, adapter or LED strips can be replaced or reordered.

Is something not working as it should? Our service assistant will be happy to help you straight away.

Installation and connection

Stair lighting needs a standard 230V socket, usually under the staircase or close by. Our fitters will connect the lighting to it during installation.

No socket nearby yet? Then please have an electrician install one before the installation day.

Frequently asked questions about stair lighting

Yes, LED stair lighting is one of our most popular options. It can be fitted to all closed staircases; with an open staircase, we cannot hide the wiring out of sight. The LEDs are adjustable to several shades of white and are dimmable. You can switch them on and off with a switch, a remote control or a sensor system that turns on automatically. The cost is usually between €500 and €800 per staircase, and the lighting is fitted straight away during the renovation.

Stair lighting needs a standard 230V socket, usually under the staircase or close by. Our fitters connect the lighting to it during installation. The socket supplies power continuously, as the lighting system handles the switching itself. No socket nearby yet? Please have an electrician install one before the installation day.

Switching on and off works wirelessly via KlikAanKlikUit, using the wall switch, the remote control or the motion sensor. Dimming and setting the shade of white is done with the separate LED controller, which has its own remote control. First, check a few things: is there a loose white KlikAanKlikUit plug between the adapter and the socket? Take it out for a moment and plug the adapter directly into the socket. If it then works, the problem lies with the KlikAanKlikUit switching (replace the battery and pair it again). Can't work it out? Ask Sep, our service assistant, at www.stairz.nl/service. He will help you straight away.
